1. Focus on the type of work you want to do, not the title.
2. Put a lot of effort into planning and executing your career transition.
3. What happens to you will be solely the results of your efforts.
4. Get out of the house and meet people who are working.
5. If you like or even half like being in uniform, stay in.
6. "Chemistry" is more important than knowledge in getting a job.
7. Don't start your career transition in debt.
8. You have a lot of marketable "soft" skills that many employers would love to have in their organization. Learn to explain them to potential employers.
9. Success is what you define it. Don't let others define success for you.
